VEGAS PRO 10.O TUTORIAL

Vegas Pro is an easy program designed to produce and edit multimedia files. There are many straightforward and simple techniques can be used in the process of creating graphical clips or presentations. Using this software can be tricky and confusing at first. However, with loads or practice I am sure an excellent video can be produced.

MAIN WINDOW

This is how the window will look like when you clicked open the software. There are 3 primary sections; the track list, the timeline and the window docking area. These sections can be altered in sizes by dragging the dividers between them.

MENU BAR

The menu bar shows a quick access to the common functions. You can find many other features in the Tools and Options menu.

TIME DISPLAY

The Time Display shows the cursor’s position on the timeline and the end point of a time selection. The cursor can be moved about within the timeline section and will display the preview of the file at a certain time.

WINDOW DOCKING AREA

This section allows you to put the commonly used windows on the same time working on the project in the timeline. The windows can be docked next to each other or in a separate docking window. Their window sizes can be altered by dragging the dividers in between them.

To expand a window, click the button and click again to restore its previous size.

To remove a docked or a floating window, click the button.

To restore a floating window simply drag the window back into the window docking area

TRACK LIST

This section describes the controls in the track header of each track; either video or audio tracks. Each track is numbered to help organizing multiple projects and will be played according to the numbers. You can add as many video or audio tracks here to help you create a project.

The audio tracks can be muted individually in order to focus on the other tracks.

The video track can also be temporarily suspended while working on other tracks

TIMELINE

Here is where all the tracks of multiple audio or video can be viewed and edited. There are various options provided for viewing and navigating the timeline.

The scroll bar allows the timeline to move up and down the track or back and forth along the timeline.

The zoom buttons are used to adjust the height of tracks for a better viewing.
